Theme problem with 3.6

(1/1)

Avalon:
I just put together a new theme which runs fine on Rockbox 3.5.1 r26534 but will not run on 3.6 r26534.

It runs fine on both the 3.5.1 and 3.6 simulators and does not have any instructions which I have not used before.

When the new theme is selected on 3.6 neither the sbs and wps run.  The default text screens are displayed.

Can someone indicate any wps or sbs instruction changes from 3.5.1 to 3.6 which could explain this?

Alternately, are there any code changes in 3.6 which might be having problems with themes which run fine on 3.5.1?

Thks

Llorean:
It's physically impossible for the revision to be the same for 3.5.1 and 3.6 - each of these refers to exactly one specific revision.

What are you actually talking about?

Avalon:
Sorry, typo.

I had the theme running on 3.5.1 r 26534.  I then installed 3.6 and the theme would not run as explained.  It runs fine on the 3.6 simulator Sorry for the confusion.

Llorean:
26534 is not 3.5.1. As I said, 3.6 and 3.5.1 only refer to very specific individual revisions, and not "any build that came after the release but before the next one". Any "current build" download is neither 3.5.1 nor 3.6. Try actually using the release build instead.

Avalon:
Thank you for your attention.

I have had a closer look and found that the problem I am having is related to the recording screen.  I had added a couple of features to the .sbs file for the recording screen.  When testing it, the Fuze V1 froze on the recording screen when in mic mode....works fine in radio mode.

I thought that this was an sbs error but it seems that it may be something in 3.6 which is causing it.  I confirmed this by using the cabbiev2 theme and the same problem occurs.  Here is the scenario:

Fuze V1
Rockbox 3.6 c/w r26569-100605
cabbiev2
recording source: microphone

When I access the recording screen the screen freezes after about 6 seconds and the only way to get out is to power down/up the Fuze.  This occurs when using the scroll wheel or selecting the record function or just doing nothing.

This does not occur using 3.5  .......  record mode for microphone works fine.

This seems to be a hardware/release problem, so I will post there as well.

Thks again.
