how stable is fuze v2
bobdotexe:
I have been using rockbox since it first came to the sansa fuze v1 (UNStable port) and it has always worked great!!!
but my sister has a fuze v2; and she is afraid it will "brick" if she puts the bootloader on it;
(Red, 4gb sansa fuze v2, latest FW)
I am debating on offering her my mp3 player if her's bricks, but first I would like to know how "Stable" the bootloader is...
yapper:
"Rockbox runs on these players, but is incomplete, less usable or has problems that limit it to advanced users"
bobdotexe:
tryed using the RButility to install (detected sanas clip v2 ???)
manual install, created patched "fuzpa.bin" but the fuze v2 will not load it...
it just goes to the main screen..
I have already download the files (.rockbox folder) to the root,
did I do something wrong???
current OF: v02.02.28A
edit: OK; stupid windows hides file extentions... FIXED!!!!

@yapper I haven't run into any problems at all in the past few days using it. What problems are you talking about (so i can be aware)?

See my thread here.
The bootloader is perfectly fine - once you get it installed, there should be no issues that could brick your player. However, the software will occasionally crash or hang, and in some cases, it can lock up in such a way that it is impossible to reset (as far as I know) - the only solution being to let the battery drain until the player shuts off, then recharge and restart the player.
This has only happened to me once in over a week of use, and I have bought three Fuzes (all v2), two of which have been running Rockbox, so I don't know that it would necessarily be too much of a problem, but I still think there should be some warning somewhere.
