Photos - Black Screen

I've read the manual and can't seem to find out what's happening.  Some of my photos show fine, some go to a black screen (forever?) especially when I try and enlarge the view but sometimes just the initial view.  I'm pretty sure they are all regular .jpeg files.  I have to reboot when this happens because I the buttons don't seem to do anything else.  Can anybody explain?

Generally, you should report what revision of Rockbox you're using as well as what player you have.  Is

Is it just a black screen with no message?  Which player do you have?  Did this start happening after installing a recent build of Rockbox?

Sorry about that.  It's the latest release, 3.5 and it's on an Apple 5th gen ipod (video).  I just installed Rockbox on it.  I've used Rockbox in the past, say a few years ago.  Wanted to see what was new and better this time.  Yes, it's just a black screen with no msg.  Same for when I try a plugin.
