[solved] Could not open Ipod: permission denied

Hi guys!
I'm trying to install trough Rockbox Utiliy on a iPod 5.5 80gb.
I got Ubuntu 10.04, I tried to reset under windoes iTunes the device but the installation of Rockbox dosen't start..

Please help!

Get permission using sudo or by logging in as root.

thanks for your reply. Actually, I'm logged as root..

Please, can you help me with terminal?
I'm not able to write the right command..

Please post the output of the Help / Troubleshoot / System Info dialog (you can copy from that dialog). Also, please tell us what exactly you are doing (i.e. what command are you typing in the terminal?)

Ok, you can see what happens when I try to install bootloader trought the Rockbox Utlity here: http://pastebin.com/wCgGrFRd

I'm doing nothing in the terminal, can you please suggest me what to write? Thank you..

You need to run Rockbox Utility with root permissions for bootloader installation (this is only needed for bootloader installation). Depending on your Linux setup, do the following:

- open a console. In most cases you can do this by pressing Alt-F2, then enter xterm into the dialog box that pops up.
- change to the folder you put Rockbox Utility in using the cd command.
- run Rockbox Utility using sudo with the following: sudo ./RockboxUtility
