Archos Jukebox Recorder: Which extensions would be possible w/ 2x-CF-Adaptor?

Just wondering...

There are  "2,5 PATA-> Dual CF card slots adaptors" at Ebay with the same dimensions as an hard disk.

You could use one slot for a memory card to store your MP3 files. And use the 2nd slot for something else?  I'm wondering what kind of extensions would be possible -from the hardware side- if someone wrote a RB driver.

Wifi?
Bluetooth?
GPS?
Additional I/O ports?

I tried this adapter, I can only access to the "CF1 Master" on the adapter. It seems that CF 2 Slave can not be used with the Jukebox (Rockbox) neither as a hard drive on PC....

Hi,

if you tried it with a standard ready-to-use RB distribution, it seems logical to me that it only accesses the master.

Or did you try to hack RB or write a destinct plug in for the slave?

No, I haven't - I'm not the expert for this, it was only a try. Would be nice to work with two CFs of course. Please let me know how it will work (details) - where can I read about it?

You would need to alter firmware/drivers/ata.c. Note all the IF_MD2(int drive,) and how that parameter is unused. Also see master_slave_detect(). Most of the changes would have to be in that area, though I expect some higher level code would also need to change to make use of the second ATA drive.
