Sansa clip+ V.1 installieren via ubuntu?

(1/1)

ChristianR:
Hello Group!

I joined here today, to load my new Clip+ 8GB with Rockbox. Of course I am, using ubuntu stick ;) and in general everything worked.

Until the part, where it says here
http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansaclip/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-70002.1
~/rbinstall$sudo ./mkamsboot clppa.bin bootloader-clipplus.sansa patched.bin
which results in the answer:
sudo: ./mkamsboot: command not found  :(

After checking this great forum here, I noted that the command is not executable, so
chmod a+x mkamsboot - and it works!

So, I copied everything as needed.
Ejected, unplugged USB and waited for the firmware update to finish. The Player wrote something like 'Updating config' (or similiar), shut off - and now the thing is DEAD.
Impossible to switch on!

THROW AWAY??
   ???

gevaerts:
Have you tried holding the power switch for a long time (30 seconds or so)? On sansas, that's usually the hardware reset function.

FlynDice:
The other thing to try is to hold the home or |<< (left) button while turning the player on.  This should boot into the original firmware and you can then plug back into usb and upload an unpatched firmware file if this has spooked you a bit.  If you did not interrupt the firmware upgrade process it is very unlikely that you have an unrecoverable brick.

Ebanjo:
(Thanks for the command line
chmod a+x mkamsboot)

Maybe the problem was the USB mode (settings/usb mode, in the "Sansa clip+" settings)
Default option is "automatic".

Before installing files, You have to change this option to "MSC" in the "Sansa clip+""USB mode" (instead of "Automatic or "MTP").

I bought my Sansa Clip+ yesterday, and with the user's guide and this post ???, rockbox works today  8)
it's worth it, it's a wonderful software, thx  :-*

PS : Sorry for my English, if I left some mistakes...
