Sansa Clip+ boot problem

(1/1)

ubbut:
I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem, so please move the thread if you don't like it here :-)

I just put the rockbox firmware on my Sansa Clip+ and it worked. I updated the library and rebotted, still worked. Then I switched it off and plugged in the USB-Cable. It didn't start up as it used to be and since then doesn't boot anymore.

any suggestions?

Is this a known bug? If yes how can I avoid it (after unbricking of course)?

thanks

edit:
my sansa clip+ now boots, don't know why it does work now. I also couldn't reproduce the problem.

Chronon:
I don't know but it sounds like it suffered a crash.  Clip+ isn't exactly ready for prime time, yet.  We don't really support it yet.

VladD:
I suffered a much worse  problem!

I have just purchased the Clip+, installed RockBox, and ... lost it!  :-[

The RockBox has not loaded, instead the player started with its original software, and then, after a second or third attempt, failed to boot at all!!!  :-[

Neither I see it at the USB!!!  :'(

Is it a hardware or software problem? Can I apply for a warranted service, or they will now piss me off saying that the warranty is void by an attempt of installation of your software? But so many people use and recommend it, try tests with it -- could it be real that it does crashes the hardware???

I used the automated download, firmware 1.02.13 from http://daniel.haxx.se/sansa/amsfw.html#clip

saratoga:
It sounds like your player crashed.  Hold power for a while and it should reboot.

VladD:
MANY THANKS!

Actually, I tried this before posting too, but after your advice I have tried harder -- it took longer than I expected.

But the RockBox still does not load. It has rebooted in the original mode.

:) well, at least I know now that this is not a hardware problem. Move to another thread.
