***NO CONNECTION*** RockBox 3.4 / IPod Color/Photo / Itunes 9.1.1.12
« on: May 01, 2010, 02:50:03 PM »
I've had Rockbox (v3.4) on my IPod color/photo (60Gb) for quite awhile and haven't had any problems. However, today when I connected the IPod to my laptop (via USB) the IPod USB connector display came up briefly and then the IPod rebooted. I got the warning not to disconnect but nothing else.....I left it that way for awhile and still nothing including no IPod in my Explorer window. As far as my computer was concerned the IPod didn't exist. I rebooted the IPod into it's original firmware, started ITunes (v9.1.1.12) and nothing...ITunes didn't see the IPod. I reversed the order of both connect/reboot methods and still nothing.

Like I said I went to perfect operation to no operation overnight...any ideas? Could Windows have installed an update that screwed with the USB drivers? As it is, right now I can't get any fixes into the IPod even if I knew what needed fixing. HELP. Thanks in advance.

Try a different computer, different cable, etc until you figure out what broke.
