Darakian:
Hi All,
I've come across a locked drive that I'd like to get into and my search lead me here
http://www.rockbox.org/lock.html
Unfortunately the file is question is gone. I was able to find something in the mail archive, but all it says it that the page should now be up to date
http://www.rockbox.org/mail/archive/rockbox-archive-2003-01/0183.shtml
Alas it is not. Anyone know if this file is still available?
karashata:
I'm not sure that file would be what you're looking for, not to mention it's not there... You might have better luck looking elsewhere for generic locked hard drive issues, since these forums are for Rockbox-related issues only.
EDIT: Perhaps if you tried Googling "atapwd" and trying some of the results that come up, you might find the file you're looking for...
Darakian:
I've done that. None of the sites that come up have anything useful. A few claim to have the file but then just link to torrent sites or rapidshare clones.
karashata:
Hm, you seem to be right... I would suggest perhaps trying one of the torrents but that could prove to be a problem if it turned out the file was fake, however, it might be the only way to get that particular file (assuming at least *some* of the torrents available are real).
Perhaps a better idea would be to search for something along the line of "free hard drive unlocking utility" and see what that might turn up...
Anyway, as this is outside the scope of these forums, that's probably about as much help as you're going to get here, unless someone from these forums has, or can track down, atapwd (so we could then update our link to it on the wiki, should it ever be necessary).
Darakian:
Never mind. I found version 1.1 of atapwd on the Ultimate boot cd version 4.11
http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
It shouldn't be hard to pull it out of the iso if you wish to update your page :)
Edit:
On a side note the UBCD site links to you guys for the utility :p
