Altering "Fade on Stop/Pause" duration

Can anyone point me to official documentation that tells how to alter the "Fade on Stop/Pause" duration? Thanks.

Check the manual under the Playback Settings chapter, according to the manual it's either enabled or disabled. I'd imagine that means in order to alter it in any way you'd need to download the Rockbox source code, find the code that handles the fadeout on stop/pause, and edit it according to what changes you want to make.

Check the DocsIndex on the wiki (it's right on the site's sidebar, last entry under Documentation) to find articles on how to download the source code via SVN, how to set up a build environment, and more.

OK. Perhaps I'll be lucky and find the the fade rate is not a source literal but some config file value.

By the way, I find the fade-out rather jerky, albeit I'm trying it only on the simulator. How good is the rendering on real devices?

It's not a configurable value, not since the last time I checked anyway, I'm pretty sure it's hard-coded... I'm fairly sure every setting that can be changed can be configured from within Rockbox, nothing I know of should only be configurable by editing the config file manually...

As far as how well it works on target, I wouldn't really know too well since I don't use it, but any time I've noticed it before I've disabled it it's seemed smooth enough...

Nice to know at least a config file exists. If I ever get to make this mod, I'll hope I can move the value to there.

Thanks. Perhaps the Sim jerkyness is because the Sim's fade updates the volume only every 200ms or so buffer full.
