Hi,can someone help me uninstall rockbox please.Ive followed the instructions on the website and in the manual but its not working. When i turn my player on it still trys to use the rockbox bootloader.Ive put a hex file in the root directory as it says and then gone into firmware upgrade on my player but when i click yes, nothing happens. It doesnt do anything. Can someone help please.

linuxstb:
Where on your h340 did you put the .hex file, and what name does it have?  Is it definitely a h340 .hex file?

It sounds like the h340 is rejecting the hex (or not finding it), but I'm not 100% sure about that as I don't own a h340.

si69:
Yeah its definately the right hex file and its in the right place i.e in the root folder.I have used it many times before and never had a problem until i put rockbox on which seems to be insanely buggy so i want to take it off.

bluebrother:
I don't see why Rockbox should be "insanely buggy" at all (using it since years on my h100 and never looked back), but it's your decision. You might want to consider asking about the problems you have to figure what's going wrong instead of removing it (Rockbox behaves noticably different than the iriver firmware, and that's intentional).

Anyway, are you sure you didn't put a patched firmware file on the player? What do you mean by "used many times before"? You only need a firmware file for flashing once, and I would be quite surprised if you did flash your player frequently.

si69:
Firstly im not saying it SHOULD be buggy,im saying it is.Id prefer it wasnt but guess i cant have everything.Ive put it on my player two weeks ago and ever since then it has crashed twice and iv had to reset the player to get it to work, when i turn the player on now there is a big list of nonsensical files under the files folder (no idea what they are) including a recycle bin file and various other letters ,numbers etc.Secondly, yes it is my decision so if i wish to remove it then i would hope i came to the right place where helpful people would give me guidance and not a response such as yours.Thirdly,NO i did not put a patched firmware on my player,it is a clean standard hex file. And finally, i have had my player for many many years and have used hex files to flash my player on several occasions when i have tried out/upgraded firmwares,so if you seem surprised by that then that is your problem not mine.I came here looking for help as i have done in the past by some very nice people, and would of hoped that i could get the help i needed and not the response the like of which you gave.Tell me what was the point in that please? It didnt help one bit and was basically just a criticism as you have some loyalty to rockbox.Im sorry if it came as a shock that i wanted to remove something that didnt work, but i will gladly leave it on my player if it works properly once i try to install it again after i remove it.
