Sharepod + Rockbox = database issue
« on: April 16, 2010, 02:06:31 AM »
Well I was using sharepod to mass modify some of my database information (album names, etc.) When I boot up with the Apple firmware the database is fine, but rockbox maintains the album names, file names, etc. of the old database (new/deleted songs work fine--some of the spacing has changed lol). I have initialized, updated, and even removed and re-initialized the database manually. I guess this has something to do with the way that sharepod updates information, anybody know how I can solve this?

Verify that the file metadata is changed on the actual files, rather than just their entries in the Apple database (which Rockbox makes no use of).

What about removing rockbox, 'reflashing' with the OF and then reinstalling rockbox and initializing the database again

Please don't suggest "reinstall" as a solution to problems without first figuring out what exactly the problem is. There's really no reason reinstalling Rockbox should resolve this issue if re-initializing the database does not. Instead, as I suggested, he should look into what sharepod is actually doing to information.
