100% duplicated files in database - sansa e260v2

i have all tracks duplicate  listed in the database as well as the rockbox files browser.

All tags are correct. I have tried initializing and updating the database many times.


any ideas?

Well if they're duplicated in the file browser too, then one of two things explain it :

1) You have multiple copies of the same file on your DAP, in which case of course the database contains duplicates

2) The filesystem on your DAP is damaged in a unique and interesting way, and this will too cause issues with the database.

So I suggest your run a chkdsk / fsck against your sansa and see if that fixes it.

If you put music on using MTP mode (this is the default mode for the OF), those files will be located somewhere in the ##MUSIC# folder.  This folder is visible to the Rockbox file browser and database, but the OF hides it when you connect to your computer in MSC mode.  The OF also prevents music added in MSC mode from being visible when you connect to you computer in MTP mode.  This is why it would appear to be duplicated in Rockbox, but not when connected to the computer.
