Sansa e250 v1 access files on player while in recovery mode?

I need to get the music etc files off the player

I have access to both a windows and ubuntu pc. Any help you can offer will be invaluable.

You can't access the disk at all in recovery mode.  You'll need to fix it first.  See the the e200unbrick page on the wiki.
