Wine detected!

(1/1)

yapper:
I've just downloaded Rockbox Utility 1.2.6 (win32) and get a Wine warning when it is first launched, although I'm running it on a Windows XP machine.

Edit: corrected RockboxUtility version number (was incorrectly shown as 1.2.26)

bluebrother:
That's interesting. I've talked to the wine guys before implementing that, and I'm a bit surprised it gives false positives. Will look into that issue later, don't have my develop environment around right now.

yapper:
I tried RockboxUtility 1.2.6 on a cleanly installed Windows XP machine, and did NOT get the Wine warning, so it appears to be something specific to the PC I originally used.

A quick browse through the registry on the problem PC showed an entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\DllOverrides for OLEDLG

After deleting that registry key the Wine warning no longer appears.

Yes, the registry hive HKCU\Software\Wine is checked and if found a wine runtime environment is assumed. Do you by chance have any idea why that hive is present in your system?

I'm afraid not
