Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility
iAudio X5 install
(1/1)
drichardson23:
Hello,
I have an iAudio X5 I'm trying to install Rockbox onto.
I'm using the installer, it seems to run well until I get to the "Manual Steps Required" part.
I safely remove the player as the dialog box says, the X5 says "OK to disconnect" which I do, then the player switches itself off. I reattach the player to the subpack and it connects fine. However it still has the original Cowon firmware - not Rockbox.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks.

Now fixed! Just need to get the order right for removing the AC cable / USB cable. Now happily Rockboxing. Thanks.
pixelma:
I'm not sure but it sounds like you connect the X5 through the subpack to USB? To start the firmware update, you need to connect it to the charger. If that's what you are doing, then I can only imagine that the Rockbox Utility doesn't put the right files into the correct places - but please describe if you use the charger or not first.
Chronon:
It seems drichardson23 was editing to report resolution of the problem while pixelma was posting.
