Preparing album artwork for PictureFlow locks up randomly
(1/1)

I'm having a problem with pictureflow lately on my Sansa Fuze V1. When preparing for the album artwork it randomly locks up the Fuze entirely. The only thing which helps after that is by holding the power-off button for more then 10 seconds.
Sometimes it gets through entirely, and i can slide through the album art, but it locks up in 80 to 90% of all cases.
Anybody else having this issue? On the Fuze or any other player? And for those who recognize this issue, do you have any hints on getting this resolved?
The only build i still have got available where pictureflow works is r25255. The next build i still have around on my harddisk is r25371, and all other builds since then are definitely having the issue described above!

Assuming some change between those revisions caused the problem, r25297 might be a good guess, but theres a bunch of Fuzev2 commits that could accidentally have impacted the V1 as well.
116 revisions is 7 versions to compile and test if you do a binary search. Thats probably your best bet to figure out what broke it.

Ok, thanks for the hint. Is the vmware image which you could use to do rockbox development still around? I ditched that one since the build service was put online.
If only i had more time to play with rockbox ...
Ok, i found/made some time, downloaded and installed the vmware image, and looked up the process for building rockbox again.
After getting through this process a couple of times, and testing things out, i'm sure the trouble was introduced in r25299.
But as i'm not a coder myself, i can not really step forward for solving the issue ...
Maybe some of the coders/debuggers could start creating a flyspray ticket?
And now hoping for a nice resolution ;-)
Happy rockboxing!
