Keyclick doesn't work through the speaker on iPod nano 1G

I have 3.5.1 version of the software.  I've read the postings about the keyclick only working during play.  I was wondering, however, if keyclick should also work through the speaker on the iPod nano?  I can only hear the keyclick through the earbuds during play.

I know that my nano speaker works because I can boot into the original iPod software and I hear the keyclicks without the earbuds in.
 
Does the keyclick feature work on other nanos or is the bug just isolated to the 1G?

That's called "the piezo". Rockbox does not use it at the moment.

This isn't a bug, it just hasn't been implemented yet.

Chronon:
There is a patch at FS#5111, but the last comment does indicate it's not working for 1st gen iPod nano, currently.
