Programable Hotkey Description

Is there a better description and/or example of how  r25414:  FS#11081 - Hotkey patch works?  I have looked through the FS patch and searched the forums, but I don't understand how to use it and how it could work.  I don't see any description in the manual either.

I am sorry if this may be described sufficiently elsewhere, but I have not been able to find it.  I hope this is the right forum location to post this question.

Patches don't get into the manual until they are no longer patches (i.e. are committed to form a part of Rockbox proper).

In the future, if you're encountering any issue and you're sure about it, you are encouraged to issue a Flyspray bug directly (but do make sure it doesn't already there, and consider discussing things first in IRC, or even in the forums, as you just did).
