Sansa Fuze theme port - small problem
« on: March 23, 2010, 06:52:17 PM »
Hi everyone, I recently found out that Rockbox was now stable for the Fuze and I started fiddling around with themes and  I decided to port the rayboradio_OB theme to fuze.
Everything is functioning perfectly in the simulator but there is one minor problem when the theme is run on the Sansa. The volume bar does not appear at all  in the WPS screen while on the SBS screen it appears correctly and the code is exactly the same in both config files.
I stress again that in the simulator the volume bar appears correctly both in the WPS and the SBS screens  ??? Any ideas?

Rockbox is latest stable build and Fuze firmware latest V1.02.31

I have attached the modified rayboradio theme wps file. If the problem is resolved I think it would make a nice addition to the available themes for Sansa Fuze. I made a few modifications to the shuffle, repeat and cf icons which I think look better than the ones in the original.

Here's a screendump of the WPS screen from the simulator:

and here are  a screendump of the WPS screen from the Sansa Fuze unit:

and one of the SBS screen from the Sansa:

You can see that although the volume is -11 dB in the WPS screen, the volume bar does not appear (the grey bar is on the background image)

Which simulator version are you using, and which Rockbox version are you running on your Fuze? My first guess is it's a buffer usage problem, but if you are using equivalent simulator and Rockbox builds, the simulator should tell you that

RESOLVED - Re: Sansa Fuze theme port - small problem
« Reply #2 on: March 24, 2010, 04:22:49 AM »
Rockbox is 3.5.1 and simulator is r24777-100219. Also in the console when running the simulator it tells me:

Skin buffer usage: 132756/317952
Skin buffer usage: 277176/317952

Is this any help?

>> Edit: Ok, I guess it was a buffer problem after all because I made the volume graphics smaller and reduced the states from 26 to 10 and it is now working BUT I have now run into another issue. Although the states are 10 I only see the graphic between -74 dB and 0 dB both in the simulator and on the Fuze itself. The graphic for 0 to 6 dB does not appear. The last position of the volume bar appears only for 0dB and then it disappears  between 1 and 6db

Any ideas?

>> Edit 2: Ok, I fixed it by making the states 26 again but with smaller graphics
