Why do you think you need to update the bootloader?

There has been no development on iRiver H300 (or H100) bootloaders for a very long time. If I rememebr correctly there may have been some issues with the very early ones but if you've got 3.4 running OK then I doubt you have one of them.

What version bootloader do you have?

The bootloader hasn't been updated in years, since way before Rockbox 3.4.  Version 5 is the latest IIRC.

I have H320 with rockbox 3.4. I need to update the bootloader.

Why? The latest bootloader is a couple of years old. The easiest way is to check the file stamp on the download server, which indicates that it's been almost 4 years. See http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/iriver/

It is just that when I go to upgrade it to 3.5 the pop up dialoge [after pressing complete installation] wants the most current bootloader and the message links to iriver and there is no AU link to a bootloader file there.

Am i just blonde and not getting it?

Complete Installation always assumes that you haven't installed anything and need to install the bootloader. Especially, on h300 there is no way to detect if you already have installed the bootloader. Why aren't you just using the "Installation" tab? Using Complete Installation is not required, it's just a convenience function ...
