Sansa e250 Boot Problem
« on: March 21, 2010, 04:13:27 AM »
I completely screwed up my sansa e250 while tryin to mess around...
I did couple of things listed below:
- installed rockbox using rockbox utility and it worked.
- then i tried to install it manually without bootloader...
- then what i did was renamed rockbox.mi4 to pi something(which is the name of the firmware bootloader) and copied to the root directory
- i guess it completely removed original firmware installed rockbox... and it still worked..
- it worked fine when i shutdown n power on too...
- then again i tried to mess around like i changed some tags in tagnavi.config and pasted it to tagnavi_custom.config
- i changed  settings to auto update database
- i unplug my sansa n shutdown n power on... i get a message database committing then my sansa hangs up...
- i shutdown again and power on the screen shows bootloader version n rockbox logo n hangs up...
- it doesnt show the device when i plug it in my computer

can anyone help me? i just screwed up my new sansa...  :(

Have you tried following the instructions here to unbrick your player..?

EDIT: A small warning, also on that page... Don't attempt to do the unbrick if you can boot the device into the OF holding |<< while powering on. If that fails, *then* try the unbricking procedure...

He did post a link. That's why "here" is a different color.

Also, please use real English rather than things like "u" as mentioned in the forum guidelines.

Click the word "here" in my previous post...

Maybe I should try to get out of the habit of putting things in URL tags...

Or you can just click here: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaE200Unbrick

That's the same link I posted earlier...
