ipod docking, fading and pausing
« on: March 18, 2010, 08:39:58 PM »
just my little rant on all the little things that bug me about  rockbox

1. whenever i connect my ipod to my speakers, the usb icon pops up because the speakers provide power. i have to hold down the menu button every time i use the speakers.  since i use my speakers way more than my usb connector, i was thinking that there would be an option to invert this procedure, that the ipod or whatever device would not go into usb mode unless menu was held.  just kinda annoying

2. also i have my ipod set to fade on pauses.  when i have it on the speakers, the ipod cant control the volume of the speakers.  so when i hit pause on my ipod, the sound instead of fading out continues on for a second and then cuts out.  could it be possible to implement an option disabling fading if there are no headphones plugged in?

3. i also have my ipod to crossfade between songs.  however, when i hit pause on one song and then go to my database and select another song, i have to listen to the first song fade in, then crossfade to the next song.  could there be an option to just load a song immediately if the player is paused or stopped?

well thats all

In response to #3, try actually stopping the music rather than Pausing. You mention what happens when paused, then request a change for paused and stopped, but I'm pretty sure it works the way you expect if you actually stop playback instead of simply pausing.
