iPod 5G 60GB battery mAh
« on: March 18, 2010, 11:02:50 AM »
I am looking for the mAh rating of the stock Apple battery in the iPod 5G 60GB.
All I can find online are aftermarket batteries.

Would just like to know so I can set the correct value in Rockbox.

Thank you

If you have a stock battery, then the default setting in Rockbox is already correct; that's why it's the default. You only need to change it if you have a replacement battery. :)

For reference, though, it is 600mAh.

You may also want to decrease it a little to compensate for capacity loss if it's old.

As a note, the capacity setting is only used for the runtime estimation.

This doesn't really work right, because older batteries have a differently shaped discharge curve. The estimate will not change in a particularly useful way: it will be lower, but it will be lowed by a fixed proportion throughout the battery's lifetime, so how accurate it is will depend on how full the battery is...
