problem with lcd on sansa c240v1

when the backlight is turned off in RB either by time out or manually. regardless of contrast settings and backlight fade settings. when the backlight is turned back on the screen is all black. the player must be turned off to fix this.
i have tested it in the original firmware and the problem is nonexistant there.

What build are you using?  Can you pinpoint when this started happening?

its been happening since i installed rb about a year ago.

Hmm. . .  Apparently, it's something peculiar to your player.    It's a long shot, but you could try resetting your settings.  Otherwise I suspect that you either have a slightly different hardware revision (though without a subset of other people reporting similar behavior I find this unlikely) or a piece of hardware is suffering some malfunction that affects Rockbox but not the original firmware.
