list of devices that don't skip with eq on

I couldn't find much on this subject while I've been researching getting a new mp3 player.  If you have a device that works well with the eq and all 5 bands with no skipping on flac/alac/mp3/aac/ogg/etc can u make a post so people might be able to find this info.  Could you post what build you're running as well please.  Thanks.

saratoga:
With those formats I would expect all targets (at least all with EQ) to be able to keep up.

Edit:  Well probably not the old Ipod G1-G3.

Thanks for the info.  I got the impression that some devices would have skipping but did notice the posts stating that were fairly old.  I take it the optimization has made good progress then.

Are you sure you dont mean to say "clip" or "distort" when eq adjusted.
Or do you mean the music actually skips like a scratched cd?

my sansa e260 (rockbox) sounds like hell with any sort of "dynamic" eq adjustment. but the simple treble and bass settings outside the eq work much better. can extent the treble and bass much further without sibilance. but if i mess with the parametric eq it just seems to bring out distortion.

i listen to mostly lossless only.  flac and alac (mp4 lossless)

rocknrollfrenchfries,
If you listen to much current music your problem is probably related to the loudness wars.  Without any remaining headroom in the audio file any positive gain with the EQ will lead to distortion.

There are two easy ways around this:
1 - Reduce unwanted frequencies instead of boosting wanted ones, and up the volume.   (Instead of the stereotypical bass and treble boosting "smiley" EQ, reduce the midrange with a wide filter (small Q value))
2 - Use the Pre-cut Rockbox gave you!  If you're adding 15dB of gain with the EQ you really need to set the Pre-cut to -15 dB.
