Weird database entries after update on Ipod video 30gb

<< < (2/3) > >>

Chronon:
Can you use a metadata tagging application (such as mp3tag) to check the metadata of the files on your player?

hannef:
alright this time the only suspicious thing i found was again some kind of code (hex?)
as a comment of 59 songs. The rest seems pretty normal.
e: the songs cant be connected to each other... except half of them i know i listened to the days before it happened. but there are some songs i didnt even listen to once.

Chronon:
Hmph.  No clear explanation there.

You can try deleting all of the *.tcd files in the .rockbox directory on your player and try initializing again.  I am at a loss to explain how these random entries ended up in Rockbox's database.

hannef:
that didn't help  :-\

e: alright i think i know what caused this. Before I had these entries I put a folder on my Ipod which I used for backup data ~3.5GB.
I just deleted that folder and *ding* the entries were gone. In that folder I had lots of different files: pictures, textdocs, games etc.. also a Crimson Editor. I have no idea though why that happened, i put lots of files on my ipod, never had a problem before. I'm glad i can use rockbox again :)

AlexP:
As a note, if you put an empty file in a directory called "database.ignore" then the database will, well, ignore that folder :)
