Ipod Nano 2G ogg and database issues

(1/3) > >>

Hi folks!

first off...I LOVE ROCKBOX!!! Alright?! Let's clear that right away!!! :)

second...I've loaded my ipod with mp3s, and when I select a song to play via the database, everything works perfectly!

but...when I load my ipod with ogg, and select a file to play via database, it plays for about 10 seconds, and then gives me a panic (I don't remember the panic message...scheduling bank something...).

I can do a re-boot without having to re-initialize (whew)...

I'm currently playing the oggs via the files selector in my ipod and it's perfect. I even made a shuffled playlist and works great...so, something's up with database + oggs. :(

Using rockbox r25108

thanks!!

edit: alright. I made the crash again. It says *PANIC* FTL: Scheduling Bank 1 block 1906 for remap!

if that helps anything? I did a chkdsk and everything too...nothing helped. Mayhap Mr. Database don't like ogg? ;)

I am not seeing this so far with the same revision on my S60.  It might have to do with some code that's specific to that target, I suppose.  Did this behavior start recently?  It would be most helpful if you can find the code change (i.e. which revision) caused this behavior to appear.

another test here...

i cleared all my oggs and just loaded mp3s.....perfect!!

hmmmm...

(next day): damn....rockbox is just too unstable on my nano 2g! Woke up this morning, tried to turn on my ipod and got the white-screen-of-restore-death....for no reason...

shite...looks like i might need to go back to regular ipod land...

I'll point out that we classify it as unstable :)  It is a new port and bugs are to be expected.  If you find bugs that you can reproduce, then please check if they are already on the bug tracker and if not add them with full details and a recipe for how to reproduce.

Thanks Alex!

I'll start using the bug tracker too! I just thought someone else might have a solution already.

(never used the bug tracker before, please be patient  ;)
