Rockboy and the MPEG player are the main reasons people use rockbox.

Then some of these people should invest some time into learning how to improve these parts of Rockbox.

Rockboy and the MPEG player are the main reasons people use rockbox.

It is pointless to engage in a debate of why people use Rocbox without acutally knowing, but I'd contend this is absolutely not true.  Most people in my experience use it because of the wide range of codec support, on the fly playlists, filetree browsing, replaygain, equaliser, ....

If you really only want to play gameboy games then you are much better off buying a gameboy.

I'm sorry for it sounding like that. I meant that a lot of people use rockbox to play videos and play gb, gbc games. I didn't mean that its the only thing. I realize rockbox supports a bunch more things than the OFW. Rockbox has tons of things that are useful.

It would be really nice if someone took at look at rockboy when they have free time, even if they can't find anything wrong with it. Just knowing that rockboy hasn't been forgotten is enough.

- rockboy is just one of many things that makes rockbox awesome.

btw, I've lost/broken most of my gb/gbc games and my SP's backlight doesn't work. Rockboy is quite the nice thing.

Rockboy and the MPEG player are the main reasons people use rockbox.

Maybe the main reason you use them, but I can assure you they're much less popular then audio playback.  Hence the extreme trouble getting anyone to care enough to work on them.

Ditto, I couldn't care less about Rockboy or MPEG Player to be honest - it's all about the music playback for me.

Me again... (The Name Caller)

 ::)

I love Rockbox because it does SO MANY THINGS!

I've been reading Asimov novels on it... I haven't read a book in YEARS.

And watching Family Guy or Futurama shows...

Or full length movies!

Or playing Gameboy games (minus sound)...

And listening to music...

My iPod has been sitting unused for 3+ years because it was so LIMITED!

Now, I used it anytime I'm idle for more than a minute or two...

If Rockboy sound gets fixed, it would only be icing on the cake!

;D Don't worry, that doesn't have to be your nickname.

Rockbox is a volunteer effort.  Anyone who really cares about improving this is welcome to step forward and submit patches to improve things.
