wanna get the latest rockbox version for mrobe500i..,

I wonder whether the rockbox for mrobe 500 on the site ‘current built' is the newest, please notify me if it can be successfully used and works in order.

All of the builds on the current build page are built with the most recent code changes, so, yes, it is the newest available build. The current status of all current Rockbox ports can be found on the front page (www.rockbox.org). According to the front page, the M:Robe 500 is listed as Unstable, so it might not be very usable for you yet, though you're willing to try it if you so desire.

I think he also meant that the latest build can't be downloaded from the current build page ( this would be the link: http://build.rockbox.org/dist/build-mrobe500/rockbox.zip ) but its currently giving a 404 error. Try again in 5-10 minutes or you can try this one: http://download.rockbox.org/daily/mrobe100/rockbox-mrobe100.zip (which is working for me).

Thank you so much. You guys replied so quickly.I already downloaded the rockbox zip for mr500i.Wish  that  it could be successfully put into my player and won't damage my system.
Is there anybody who  have already  installed rockbox on robe 500?Any suggestion?

It won't damage anything, and should mostly run fine.  Unstable just means that there is some unimplemented functionality, or you might get the odd crash, something like that.

What do you mean by saying"odd crash"? Is there some strange noise  when playing music on?I
just wanna  get better sound quality.

What AlexP means is that on the odd occasion the player may lock up for no apparent reason because the code isn't completely stable yet. Under normal circumstances this probably shouldn't happen but you really never know until it does...

someone suggested me to wait for the stable rockbox version.I wonder when it can come.Maybe I can't wait that long.....If I installed this version and later here comes a better one,will it be easy for me to update the rockbox?

Yes, it's very easy to update Rockbox. Just download the zip file again whenever you want to update and extract it into the root of your player.

I have Rockbox running on a 500i and it runs quite well. there still are bugs which will become apparent to you very soon after installing but even at that it is still better than the original firmware. Progress on this player seems to have stopped but if I'm proven wrong, well great!!
