it appears that the theme that i uploaded to the theme site called Zu3 has disappeared and i was wondering why.
as far as i can tell, i have not revived a notification e-mail regarding its removal.

I don't know your theme but if you are using multifont than you have to update and reupload your theme. I had the same problem with my themes. They changed the multifont syntax. See here: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=23857.msg162972#msg162972

if i remember correctly there is some sort of archive for themes that have been updated/removed.
would it be possible for an admin to get it from the removed themes archive and send it to the email address that i used to upload it.
the only backup i had of my theme was on my sansa which recently got completely trashed.
or maybe some one that might have downloaded it while it was up could pm me so i could have them send it to me.
i really want to fix it so i can re upload it.
