A couple Fuze querks
(1/1)
BillMPL:
Hi, I successfully installed rockbox on my Fuze but have a couple issues.
First, when I boot into the original sansa firmware, all of the rockbox themes show up when you go into photos.
Secondly, none of the factory installed files, (music, photos or video), show up when in rockbox.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Bill
saratoga:
If you copy files to the OF in MTP mode the files end up renamed and hidden somewhere. I think you can still get to them if you use the rockbox database, but you might need to retransfer them in MSC mode.

I also have a sansa e200 with rockbox and it has none of these issues. Why am I seeing all of the rockbox themes listed under photos when booted up in the original firmware? With the e200, when I'm in rockbox I will still have the original factory installed sansa photos show up, but not with the Fuze. None of the factory installed photos, videos or music show up in rockbox.
On another note, when I select a color for the background in rockbox settings nothing happens.

Chronon:
I'm not sure what you mean by having the "factory installed sansa photos" show up. Are you navigating somewhere using Rockbox's file browser to view them? If so, then the comments about MTP mode should apply to this as well (i.e. the files may end up stored in a place you aren't expecting).
Background color won't be visible if the theme you're using loads a backdrop image.
M_Koga:
FWIW, I think the Fuze handles things a bit differently from the e200 series.
It seems that the Fuze will recurse the entire flash drive for photos, just as most Sansas seem to do for audio files, whereas the e200 seems to ignore photos that are not in the official directory. (Talking about original firmware of course.)
As to finding the original sample photos when in Rockbox, it's likely a lost cause, because I believe that they are loaded in MTP mode (i.e., stored in a database rather than as discrete files). I may be wrong -- I didn't do an in-depth examination, just a cursory nose-around when I noticed the same thing, and it was a while ago.
