Sansa e280R v1: No sound in rockbox; sound in OF

i just lost sound in my Sansa e280R only when it booted to Rockbox. This happened right in the middle of using the player. All of a sudden the sound cut out. I tried to reset the settings by booting w/ the REC button pressed but to no avail. Theres no sound while playing either files or FM.

However, sound does work when it's booted to the original firmware.

I've loaded the latest build,  r24953-100227, and that didnt help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I've seen this reported a few times before, but I don't think theres a known solution.  My theory is that some stage in the amplifier failed that the rockbox driver depends on but the OF one does not.

sockbox:
thats terrible news. the whole point in my buying the e280r was because of rockbox.

looks like im going to wait on purchasing a clip+ until rockbox dev is complete.

thanks.

good news folks...

the e280R fixed itself. rockbox is playing sounds again. i dont know how this happened but i'm happy.

prior to the fix, i deleted everything in the /system/DATA folder, which holds all the Sansa database files. this was to force the original firmware to update the database. i was  using the OF this morning to listen to mp3s. then this evening, i turn the sansa on, forgetting to hold down the left button to force OF, and to my surprise rockbox was playing sounds again!

Thank you for following up.  I don't see a clear connection between the SanDisk database and Rockbox's functionality.  If you have flaky hardware then the no-sound issue could return.
