Manually patch c200v1 firmware?

I don't have root privileges on this box and so can't use sansapatcher.  Is there a program to manually patch a firmware and then update it on the device via Recovery Mode?

I don't think theres any easy way to do that (at least without writing some of your own code).  An easier way might be to just burn a linux livecd and patch from there.
