Wheel works sporadically on Fuze
(1/1)
jagdriver:
I recently switched to Rockbox on my Fuze. Originally I had zero issues.
Last week I deleted about 250 tracks stored internally. On my PC, I did some tag editing (changing the Genre field) on the corresponding original MP3s, then copied them back to the Fuze's internal memory. Now when I try to play just that new Genre, the Fuze's wheel works sporadically.
I thought that my wheel may be borked, but when I just booted back to the original OS to test it, the wheel worked fine. This tells me that there is some unknown issue with Rockbox. Any ideas?

What rockbox revision number?
jagdriver:
r24120-091228, but I just now revved to this month's 3.5 release to see if that would make a difference. It hasn't.
I should mention that I have the Rockbox OS custom-configured to provide gapless playback.
Upon boot, if I fiddle with the > portion of the wheel long enough, then the > and || display icon in the lower-right corner blinks interchangeably a couple of times. Then after this several-second delay the Fuze takes off in > mode and all is well.
I should also note that << and >> provide questionable operation at this point.

I believe Rockbox already supports gapless playback for most, if not all, of the formats it supports by default, as long as the files are encoded properly for it... Just thought I'd mention that...
As for your problem, I'm sorry but I can't help there.
