sansa e260v2 install failure - help needed please.

hi,

let me excuse my poor english and some lack of technical knowledge first,

the problem is I have a sansa e260 with 03.01.16E firmware and the installation log shows me this message, while I'm trying to install rockbox (translated from my language...):

-downloading bootloader file
-download finished (buffered)
-[ERR] unknown firmware model (v1) - model id 0x00
-cannot load c:/.../bootloader-e200v2.sansa

I'm out of ideas, thanks for all your help.

Please post the output of the Help / Troubleshooting / System trace and System Info dialogs after you tried installation. Note that this output will get deleted when closing Rockbox Utility so you need to redo the same steps you did before getting to the problem

I have the rockbox utility in my language, so I'm not quite sure if this is what you mean:

-the help->troubleshooting->system information thing says:
     win ver 5.1 build 2600 sp3

Which bootloader file did you download? You don't need to download the bootloader at all (this is done by Rockbox Utility), you need to download the original firmware file. You pointed the installer to the file "C:/Documents and Settings/Agata/Pulpit/bootloader-e200v2.sansa" which sounds really wrong -- the original firmware file is named "e200pf.bin" (for the european version with FM tuner, the letters "pf" might be different for other versions; haven't checked), and that filename is the filename of the Rockbox bootloader.

Get the original firmware file and point the installer to that, then it will work.
