A few questions about album art...
(1/1)
kage:
I am looking through the wiki page, but I am not understanding this well...
how should the file name work if I was going to do a
"./ albumtitle.ext"
would I just name the file "albumtitle.jpg" or something like that?
and where weould I put a file like that? IN the album folder itself?
and what about the "./ folder" file name?
would that go in the folder that I want the art to display for that FOLDER of music only?
Im not sure what "metadata" is, but I need ot for the first one, and I guaruntee most of my music doesnt have any
karashata:
If your music is sorted nicely in the file tree your best bet would be to name your cover art images "cover.jpg" or "folder.jpg" and place them in the corresponding folders. This would especially be true if your music isn't properly tagged since any album art images using the artist and/or album names requires those bits of information to be written in the corresponding music files' metadata tags (in the case of MP3 files this would ideally be the ID3v2 tag).
Chronon:
This
--- Code: ---./
--- End code ---
is a relative path pointing to the current directory (in this case the directory containing the currently playing track).
evanthepanther:
title them like this: "albumtitle.jpg", in the root folder for where your MUSIC is located. For instance on the Ipod the root for music is in the "Music" folder, because after that they split off into random folders, then in those folders are the actual music files.
so what you want to do is work it backwards from your actual music files, and when they all meet at 1 folder, place the picture file there for the album titles
on a side note, check to see what picture size your player is able to display
