Sansa e280v2 battery status shows unrealistically high remaining time
mr3c2010:
First I'd like to say "Thank you!" for developing a v2 port. I went with the complete install of 3.5 and noticed my battery level reading about 65% and a time remaining of 115hrs. I'm now at 55% and 100h 22m. I understand these are just estimates but just thought I'd provide feedback regarding what I'm seeing. I have an e280v1 and think the 15 to 14h estimates (Rockbox 3.4) I saw for that were actually quite good, and I think I should be seeing something similar for this player. Thank you again for a nicely done interface.

They're not estimates. Thats to tell you that theres no runtime data available to do the estimate. The idea was that giving an unrealistic value reminds people that its not implemented.

Thank you for the quick reply. So am I correct in thinking that the software is now collecting runtime data to refine the time remaining estimate, and that the estimate will continue to get better as I use the player?

Thanks for the link. I looked at this and thought that might be the "answer", which, it seems to me, is that there has been no data collected on the e280v2 with respect to battery consumption, so the developer community could use the data to make the appropriate changes to a later version of the software. I'll look at getting the TSR loaded and submit some data.
