error code 00000020 (gigabeat x30)
« on: February 13, 2010, 09:14:31 AM »
Hi mate, my X30 is dead and I tried to install the rockbox and all the procedure that described in  GigabeatFXPort but still getting the same result.
My situation is exactly like our friend Plerg had before : http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?action=printpage;topic=22063.0

Anyone had come across the same problem and solved it before? I would appreciate very much if you could provide me any idea as it's bother me for months. Thank you.

have you read this in the thread you linked:
Quote
I took the battery out, trying to find any way to get it working again. I've got it plugged in by the power supply, and it seems to be working fine now.

I've just put the battery back in, without the power supply and it still seems to be running fine. Does anybody have any idea what the problem could have been? I'll buy a new battery anyway just to be on the safe side.

The new battery fixed mine for a while, but I started getting an error again after a week or two. At first, unplugging the battery fixed it but then it came back and I couldn't fix it.

I ended up buying a broken Gigabeat from ebay and swapping the motherboard over. I still don't know what the exact problem was.

I see.. THanks guys. I think I will put it aside first untill i think of some possible solution. It shouldnt be the problem of battery. ohya.. How long shd we switch the battery off to clear its exsisting memory?

BTW, happy chinese new year to you guys, if you guys celebrating it :)
have a good one!

Plerg, i was using vista, and I am gonna use XP to update the firmware using the original toshiba updater. Was wondering could it because of vista causing the error box "There is no drive that allows transfer of the application. Connect Gigabeat to the PC." Perhaps XP is a more well rounded one. But I dun have the XP OS at the moment, I will inform you if I got the happy result. Cheers!
