You can't tell from the box, and rockbox will not work with a v2 fuze, only a v1.  The only way to be sure is to open it and check the firmware version.

So V1 or V2 is about the firmware and not the hardware it self? Can you downgrade the firmware?

No, the V2 hardware and firmware are both different from the V1.  You cannot "downgrade" the firmware since the V2 hardware requires the different firmware version.
