Possible e260R v.2+v.1 hybrid installation questions
(1/1)
SomeShoes:
I started out with regular e260R v.2, upgraded the software (to v.03.01.16A if it helps), then found a v.1 software and installed it
my problem is that its showing characteristics from both the v.1 and the v.2 sortware; it has the USB options from v.1, but in options>info it says that is has the v.2 software (also says so when I right click>properties in my computer)
I'd just like to know any different steps I'd take to install rockbox
(windows 7 64-bit btw)

I don't think you can even install the v1 Sansa software onto the v2 Sansa, since they use different hardware. At least, you shouldn't be able to...
If you have a v2 Sansa, you'll need to follow the installation instructions for the v2 Sansa. They can be found here.

Theres no such thing as a V2 e260R. A device can be a V1, V2 or R. Combinations are not allowed. A v1 can be changed into an R and back again, but you cannot change a V2 into anything else (nor the reverse).
Your device is and always was a V2 device. It doesn't matter that you tried to install the v1 firmware, your device will simply ignore it. Follow the v2 directions when you install rockbox.
