Rockbox 3.5 and bluetooth adaptor problem (Ipod)

Hi.
I got Ipod video 80GB 5.5 and a problem with rockbox 3.5 and my bluetooth adaptor (Sony TMR-BT8iP). Well it not working. When I turn on device (or plug in) led on adaptor is not blinking (and not working at all) To be sure, that is not a hardware problem I downgrade to ver. 3.4 and is working great, so something must be wrong with new version. Any ideas what to do to make it working?

Thats the only change to the apple accessory protocol since 3.4 as far as I can see in the logs.  Its probably that one that breaks your device.

Could you make sure that the accessory power is on? Maybe the settings are reset during the update

Yes, it's, and was on. usually when I was updated, I didn't change any settings, and it was working with every previous update.

I can confirm this. I installed the latest release (3.5) and it didn't work. I reverted back to 3.4, works great.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have the same problem. Stuck at 3.4, and was wondering if this has been looked at/fixed in 3.6?

Why don't you try 3.6 and report back? If it worked before and it doesn't now, and you've made sure you've enabled line out and accessory power, then it would be good to try and track down which change broke it so it can be investigated - but you will have to help with that, since I doubt any developers have this bluetooth device.

Preliminary testing says no, it's not fixed. Will continue testing to see if there is a setting or method to the madness.

EDIT: Just to be sure, I went back to 3.4, and plugged the little BT module in. And sure as day, it just turned on and was discoverable. So I dunno what exactly was changed in the IAP, but it broke this particular accessory's usefulness.

Used 3.6 Stable, 3.6 Current (r27850) build. Still looking for the very last 3.4 build.

I would very much like to find the cause of this regression.  The very likely candidate was already mentioned in this thread.

Sunday I'm free and willing to make test builds for you if you will do the testing.

Do you have a development environment installed?
Could you patch the last version and 3.4 with  iaplogging.diff  which is in fs#9951 and send me the logs?

I used to do my own builds before the official release of 3.0, but no longer do my own builds. I was totally thinking of making a build of 3.6 (or Current SVN) and adding one of the IAP patches, but was having trouble deciding which one.

Will install a dev environment soon, though.

EDIT: So it's been quite some time since I've built my own RB. But I am compiling, and will soon test out the new build. I could not apply the IAP Logging patch/diff. May be my own mistake, may have been put in the official main build. But the V4 Patch from FS#10623 went into the build completely fine. We shall see if it works

EDIT 2: So I have figured it all out, and patched and tried the build. No dice. This sucks......I wonder what the change was the borked this particular accessory (among others, as I have seen)

Could you patch the updated  iaplogging_v1.1.patch (FS9951) on the latest build and send me the log?

Please disable the disk spindown before pluging your accessory.

Will do when I have said iPod and accessory :-)  Will also remember to disable disk spindown.

Any ideas on patching and using #10623? Or is there something broken elsewhere in Rockbox?

Fs#10623 is really work in progress, aiming to improve support for accessories like your bluetooth thing. But I have to said that it has stalled because I don't have any  accessories except a fm remote... So your help is welcome
Could you try to patch v3.4 with the previous version of iaplogging and send it to me too?
