Messed up my Gigabeat X, Please Help.
« on: February 03, 2010, 06:00:39 AM »
Today I finally managed to get my Gigabeat X working again with it's original firmware after I accidentally deleted all the system files..

All was working fine until i went to install rockbox again. I downloaded the Rockbox Install exe and once again disappointed to find that the 'Complete Installation" option was still grayed out, so instead I installed the bootloader and then foolishly safety removed/ejected my device before installing the actual rockbox firmware.

Now when I turn it on it quickly flashes the following before glitching and shutting down:

Rockbox boot loader
Version 3.0
Loading Firmware
Firmware not found

I'm stuck. All I can do is plug my device into my laptop and get the 'Bootloader USB mode', which fails to make the device display in My Computer.

Anyone know a way of making it display? Or fixing my problem any other way?

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized I posted this in the wrong section. My Bad :P
EDIT2: Thanks!

Cheers,

If you don't have any luck getting it to display, you could try the procedure detailed in the wiki:
