Samsung YP-R0 firmware

(1/1)

ricpersi:
Hi all,

I'm new to rockbox forums, I've recently bought a Samsung YP-R0 mp3 player and I'd like to port Rockbox to it. The player is based on Linux, latest firmware can be downloaded from here: http://bit.ly/9k1jBr

Looking inside the firmware (which is one big file) I've noticed an interesting header, here is what it says:

Version : V1.09
Target : KR
User : trial
Dir : /home/trial/vobs/Muon_BigBang_int/MP3_MuonModel/Build/BigBang
BuildTime : 09/11/17 16:19:04
MBoot : size(337824),checksum(a68d6e6c5d638926e9ac34e982e33da6)
Linux : size(2192408),checksum(ec6fba330026d304b2a13ef35a59110f)
RootFS : size(14831616),checksum(ad337346292915ccc037a092fcf7ad43)
Sysdata : size(40879010),checksum(c5f4a88e117e53ea3c76b05161874bf6)

Has anyone seen anything like this before? I'm trying to extract the different parts / partitions from the firmware with dd, but checksums never match. I think I'm missing the intial offset.

Do you know how to extract each different part of the firmware?

Thanks a lot in advance for you help.

Best regards,

  ricpersi

I just come to encourage you,I think the offcial firmware isn't so perfect.
Hope that someday some cool guys can come up with a new briliant system based on the offcial open source!

BTW,here's the offcial open source page:
