unsuccessful install thenuninstall on a Gigabeat F60

I have a toshiba Gigabeat X60 which failed to upload the new rockbox version as I did something wrong. I've followed the 'Gigabeat Recovery Procedure' as seen on this site. Everything worked well up to the section where you reconnect the harddrive. The problem is the computer cannot see the gigabeat therefore I cannot copy the GBsystem file across. Please help does anyone have any ideas how to see the Gigabeat drive?  Thanks
