External USB iPod docking station player

Does anyone know how to get rockbox to work on a iPod player using USB (without using a line-in cable)
Whenever I plug my ipod into the player it says Multimedia Mode, and I can change it to Presentation or Browser mode, but how do I listen to music on the player???
I know this is possible and possibly just not built into the rockbox code because if I'm playing music and then put it on the stand the music plays for a second then turns off when the iPod changes to Multimedia mode
Oh and BTW this is my player, Logitech Pure-Fi Express
I looked on the iPod Accessories page and the Pure-Fi Anywhere2 is said to work perfectly, I assume mine is similar but how do I put it in a mode where it will work...

AlexP:
If you mean "How do I charge via USB while still using the player" then the answer is in the manual. You hold a button while plugging in, select I think on the ipods.

I've scanned over the manual (iPod Nano 1st Gen) and as far as I can tell, this information isn't in there. I even searched through the PDF using "charge" and "charging" as keywords (in case my eyes deceived me) and *still* I'm fairly confident that this information isn't in there.
It probably *should* be, sure, but for the Nano 1st Gen at least...it isn't.

It would seem that it is indeed missing from the iPod Nano 1st Gen manual... As far as I can tell it should be right at the end of the quick start section (where it is for the iriver H10 20 GB for example, as section 3.3), and it's not there...
AlexP:
Hmmm, yes - it has gone missing, it used to be there.
It'll reappear soon, promise :)
