Can I donate a 6th Gen iPod to help development of Rockbox for it?

(1/1)

uschxc:
willing to do so if it will help developers...

saratoga:
I think a device like that would be useful since the encryption is now cracked and we can run code on it (at least some of the 6Gs).  However, working on a new port takes a lot of time so there may not be a developer able to take it right now.

I suggest also asking on the mailing list.

linuxstb:
Just for clarification, which generation Classic is it?

a) 1st gen  (80GB/160GB models, released September 2007)
b) 2nd gen (120GB, released September 2008)
c) 3rd gen (160GB, released September 2009)

The linux4nano project has managed to run code (but not do much else) on the 1st gen, but no progress has been made on the 2nd/3rd gen yet (as far as I know).

Also, where in the world are you?

stam9976:
Is there a way that i can help to program or solve some of the hick-ups.
