How I know what gen this device?

Please read the FAQ: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodFAQ#How_do_I_find_out_what_iPod_I_ow The name "Ipod Classic" is sometimes (mis)used for older Ipod models, but the models sold as "Ipod Classic" are not compatible with Rockbox.

The release date may be tomorrow, it may be never.

Waiting (unless you port to this device yourself) is the *only* option.

Short version: no.
Somewhat longer version: there's nobody actively working on porting Rockbox to that player. Porting to a new player is lots of work and takes quite some time. As Rockbox is a project done by volunteers in their free time this makes it even take longer -- you can at least expect one year until there's a useable state, usually a lot more. Some ports aren't even finished at all -- there can be blockers all around the way. For the Ipod Classic the first one is to manage running custom code on the player. This is a problem as the firmware itself is encrypted, so not an easy task. It's possible that knowledge gained by the Nano 2G port can be used here, but I have no idea to what extend. After that, the next problem is the hardware, which is undocumented. Again, it might be at least similar to the Nano 2G, but even if it might take a lot of time to get things working.

There should be a thread in the forums about the Ipod 6G, you might want to check that on the current state.

You forgot about the "forget about it" option ;) (not that this is a good option, but ...)

If you just want to find a player, check out forums for apple or other mp3 players.  The rockbox forums aren't the right place for non-rockbox'ed players.
