That thread from the Sansa forums helped me with repairing the jack, the problem you have is actually kinda common and involves soldering/taping down a loose connector in the main board. Hope this helps, for if you go to page 2 you'll have solderless options for repair.

It's not that, I'm not getting any signal to the jack.  I have done some probing, and no sound is being output to that trace.  I'm using an e280v2, so the player is slightly different and does not have a daughter board. (if it did, i would buy an e250 and swap them out.)

Chronon:
Any corrosion or evidence of breaks upstream on that trace?

I can't see any, but I can post some pics within the next week or so.  I am looking to find a cheap e250 and use my 8gb microsd card with it.  My battery is still good, so i wouldn't even mind buying one with a bad battery if the price is right.

Looks like this post has been dead for a while, but I've recently come across the same problem.  I've got decent soldering skills so I opened the unit up and couldn't find the usual breakage.

I got the continuity tester out and confirmed a solid connection and even traced it back a ways.  Fired up the oscilloscope and I don't seem to be getting any signal to the left output, and I think the right levels are lower than usual.

Anyone familiar enough with e200v2 line to know where the problem likely occurs?  Could a shorted set of headphones have blown something? I seem to remember a bad pair a bit ago...
