Sansa e200v2 headphone jack repair

Hello all,
I have had my e280v2 for over 2 years now.  It's been great until a couple of days ago, when I lost sound output in the left channel of the headphone jack.  Is the same repair procedure as the e200 used?

Thanks,
J

Chronon:
I have never actually inspected a v2 e2xx player, but I believe that the same part is used for the headphone jack.  If the part is the same then the repair process should also be the same.

In any case, replacing or repairing a jack like this is generally a pretty similar process.  If you wish to repair then you should look for pads that have detached or breaks in the path and then find a way to repair the pathway or wire a new one to a suitable point on the board.  You should probably look into using some epoxy for structural support, since the v1 e200s have been prone to this due to relying on the electrical connections to also provide structural support.

Well, It turns out that the actual post on the bottom (left channel) is actually broken.  Does anyone know where I can buy a new jack or the part I need to replace?

Chronon:
Depending on where it's broken you might be able to solder a short length of wire to bridge the gap.  Maybe someone else can provide a part number for you.  Alternatively, you could bid on a broken player on eBay or similar and get the needed part from that.

Good luck!

After some probing around the player, I found out that the left channel is not outputting any signal at all.  In the OF, I do get a left output thought the dock, so I don't think it's the processor itself.

Any suggestions?
